As many should know, Apparat is a great producer and musician in the Laptop music area.He will often create minimalist and organic sounds and combine them with perfectly fitting harmonies, it just turns his sound special.I Won’t waste any time speaking of him as a person but Sascha Ring is a german music producer that started on the dance floor and according to him, now is more interested in designing the sounds other than just creating beats.And you can clearly see it in Walls.
The Album starts with some ambient sound, organic, not giving any clues of what’s coming next.The Album is full of feelings and landscapes, often built from Violin harmony, and beautiful vocal work.Programming it’s another characteristic and outstanding skill of Apparat, it’s perfectly placed, delayed and granulized at the right moment, Apparat is a thinker, stuff doesn’t happen by luck.I remember when i first listened to Hailin From the Edge, the second music of the Album, and i was completely shocked, all the elements in creating a cool enviroment, and he manages to mix everything right there, the vocal, the bass, it’s just too perfectly crafted.And in the same album we can hear a sounds completely different as in Holdon that is more dancing and even pop enviroment, it’s cool as hell, but there’s not all there is.
In some music you can hear just the feeling of calm and really hear the sounds designed by Sascha, and it’s really fucking beautiful.Just hit a play on Arcadia and hear it by yourself, along with the Alien-Programming there is an entire world of sounds and sensations.
Walls is one of the greatest albums i heard in 2007-2008, and it surely deserves to be heard.
